If only I could go back in time,
To a time when the future was all mine.
I had choices to make and dreams to fulfill,
I was free to be me, to display my freewill.
Now, decisions have been made beyond my control,
Tell me, how did I dig myself into this hole?
I long to be free, free to be "me",
To be the "me" that I was meant to be.

Beautiful Bride
You've been my baby for so many years,
Through lots of laughter and many tears.
I've watched you grow each and every day,
And become the woman you are today.
It's hard to let go, to set you free,
Though I know it's the reality that must come to be.
I feel such love and beam with such pride,
As I watch you turn into a beautiful Bride.

The Special Tree
He took you to your special tree,
He then went down on bended knee.
He looked at you with loving eyes,
You looked at him with such surprise.
You shouted, "Yes!", with oh such glee,
Before he could say "Will you marry me?"
You then shared a loving embrace,
As your new future you now face.
My One True Wish by InconsequentialPoet, literature

My One True Wish
Why is it always such a surprise,
Every time you tell me more lies?
You'd think that after all these years,
I wouldn't continue to shed these tears.
My one true wish? That you'd realize...
That trust and honesty are things that I prize.
But sadly I know this to be true,
That I can never expect this from you.
He feared that he would be alone forever
But he was simply waiting for her.
To laugh with her, to cry with her,
To comfort her, to love her.
Waiting to be her everything
He dared never dream of such a thing.
To see the joy in her beautiful eyes
You know indeed that he is her prize.
Now all that is left is to forget his past sorrows
As they walk hand in hand towards their endless tomorrows.
My Reason for Existence by InconsequentialPoet, literature

My Reason for Existence
Slowly I begin to sink.
I try to fight, but to no avail.
The more I fight, the deeper I sink.
Into despair, self-loathing, regret.
I keep sinking deeper, deeper.
I can no longer move,
Fully engulfed, seeing no way out.
I can no longer breathe, and no longer desire to do so.
I am completely immersed in darkness.
Will anyone notice?
Will anyone care?
Or will they merely step over me and continue on as though I never existed?
Suddenly, seemingly out of nowhere, a hand grabs mine and pulls me up with all their might.
Further,
Further, towards the surface.
I begin to see glimpses of light.
I begin to feel the desire to breathe .
It's been three long years since that terrible time,
When you didn't think your life was worth a dime.
The day you tried to end your life,
It caused us all so much strife.
I don't think I could ever truly express,
How grateful I am that it was not a success.
But happily you've turned your life around,
And joy and love is what you have found.
There is one simple fact I need you to know,
I love you more than I could ever show.
She hates her because she's beautiful,
Her eyes, her hair, her complexion, her smile.
But she's unaware of those who envy her,
Her deep brown eyes, her tan complexion, her curly hair.
She's unaware of how her laughter and smile light up a room,
To all who know her it's more than our eyes can consume.
She continues to insist that she hates the beautiful,
But does she realize that means she hates her own soul?
It warms my heart to see such a love,
A love like that is sent from above.
I love to see the sweet tenderness,
The way it is shown is so effortless.
It is obvious to everyone how much you two care,
As the good and the bad you continue to share.
I know as you begin your journey together,
That your love will withstand any kind of weather.
She loves him, she loves him not.
It's been many years since she took those vows,
But does she still love him now?
She loves him, she loves him not.
She looks at him as he sleeps next to her.
Is he the one that she prefers?
She loves him, she loves him not.
She looks at the children they created together,
She knows they are worth every endeavor.
She loves him, she loves him not.
She knows those vows are to be forever,
So she will stay with him come whatever.
She loves him, she loves him not.
